Caring For Your Coach Leather Handbag
You have invested in a beautiful high quality leather handbag, a possession that you want to keep for many years. To protect that investment and keep it in excellent condition, a small amount of maintenance is required.
You want to plan in advance. When you make your purchase, that is the right time to also purchase the recommended high quality leather cleaner and conditioner. This necessary step will be an answer to any sudden accidents that may happen to your handbag.
Always be aware of where you set your handbag, try to avoid setting it on the floor. It only takes a misstep and your bag can be marred beyond repair. The floor area also carries untold contaminants that can go unnoticed until you pick your handbag up.
For regular care, you should lightly clean and condition your handbag at least once a month. Be cautious about using anything but the recommended cleaners and conditioners. Some handy household cleaners may seem that they won’t be harmful, but some of the chemicals that are in them could change your handbag from beautiful to something that stays in the garage.
You want to be cautious even using plain water. Depending upon the leather, water can be quite harmful and stain the leather to a darker color. If you use a damp cloth, make sure that it is damp not wet.
Leather has a natural tendency to dry out with age. This can be avoided if regular maintenance includes a moisturizing conditioner. Again, the key here is using a recommended high quality product.
The inside of your bag is just as important as the outside. Be gentle and caring as you lightly vacuum the inside with the proper hose attachment. Depending upon the materials used for the interior, always follow the recommended cleaning instructions that are provided with your purchase. You can also visit the coach website for the proper cleaning on each style of bag they offer.
If you plan on storing your Coach handbag, make sure that it is properly cleaned and protected. It is a good idea to fill it with tissue paper and then store your handbag in a dust bag. If you don’t have a dust bag available you can use a white cotton pillow case in its place.
Whatever you do, do not store your handbag in a plastic bag. Plastic bags have the nasty habit of sticking to other materials and can permanently harm your Coach handbag. Following these simple suggestions will ensure many enjoyable years of use from your Coach handbag.
